Patients, staff and visitors to the Royal Victoria Hospital will now be able to relax in a new space – Margaret’s Garden.
Patient Margaret Mitchell, along with her family and staff, revamped the old abandoned garden and brought it back to life.
Margaret, pictured in the garden with family and hospital staff, said: “I mentioned to my occupational therapist that I would love to be able to get my hands on the greenhouse and give it a good clean and get things growing again.
“Being involved in the garden has lifted my spirits and made me feel more positive.
“It has been both amazing and emotional to get my hands dirty again and create a beautiful space which can be enjoyed.”
The garden is used by the occupational therapy team as part of some patients’ therapy.
