The festivities began with a parade led by the Mains of Fintry Pipe Band before local councillor Brian Gordon officially opened proceedings at the Mains of Fintry Parish Church grounds.

Families enjoyed face painting, bouncy castles, food and drink stalls and a climbing wall.

Gala Day organiser Ron Neave, chairman of Fintry Community Council, said: “It was another very good turnout.

“I think there were about 1,000 people, about the same as we’ve had for the past few years.

“Luckily the weather stayed dry for us.”

Elsewhere, the community of Dudhope hosted their own fun day at Dudhope Park.
