Freya Howgate celebrated her 15th birthday on December 23 – and the Perth youngster hopes to be celebrating again soon.
Freya, who has cerebral palsy, enjoyed a brilliant 2018 in which she gained a number of athletics firsts on both sides of the border.
Her endeavours earned her an award from her club, Perth Strathtay.
Now she is looking to push on this year and maintain her place as one of Scotland’s top young athletes. Her progress has been phenomenal since she took up athletics about six years ago with first places and personal bests being achieved on a regular basis.
Her mum Alison said: “Freya competes in track and field athletics and will be competing again in Scottish events and one main English event.
“She is also working towards her Duke of Edinburgh bronze award by helping out the Strathtay athletics coaches.”
