Think you’ve got what it takes to work in Dundee’s hottest new attraction? This could be your chance!
V&A Dundee has announced it will recruit approximately 32 new members of staff to join the visitor assistant team ahead of the museum opening on Saturday 15 September.
The roles have been advertised later on V&A Dundee’s website and other channels, with a range of hours and contract types available.
“All Visitor Assistant positions will start in mid-August to allow for a period of training and induction, including familiarisation with the museum, before opening,” a statement said.
“Visitor Assistants will play key roles in the new museum, working across all the front-of-house areas including the gallery spaces, the front desk and the retail space.
“V&A Dundee has made a long-term commitment to paying employees fairly. Museum employees will be paid the real Living Wage, which is currently £8.75 per hour outside London compared to the national living wage of £7.83 for over-25s and £7.38 for under-25s.”
“We are looking for a Young People and Families Producer to join the learning team at this exciting stage in the museum’s development,” the museum’s website said.
“The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring young people and families are a key part of the museum, both before and after opening.
“The primary focus of this role will be planning, coordinating and evaluating an inspiring, exciting, original and participatory learning and engagement programme.”
The role of Bookings and Enquiries Officer involved being the first point of contact for people with particular visitor and access enquiries and for those booking events such as tours and workshops, while exceptional people were wanted to be Visitor Assistants.
“You will be positive, flexible and committed to helping our customers get the most from their time at V&A Dundee,” the museum said.
“You must be confident in working in Front of House positions and interacting with a wide range of customers.
“We are looking for people who will strive to exceed the expectations of our visitors and deliver an experience that is truly unforgettable.
“If you have a passion for design, and experience in a customer-facing role with excellent communication skills, as well as previous cash handling experience, then apply today.
