A local family will take part in a national running race in memory of a family member to raise money for Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
The Kerrs from Perth are entering the Great Scottish Run on September 29 following the death of wife and mum Ruth in February after she suffered from aplastic anaemia.
The condition affected Ruth for a year and caused her bone marrow to stop producing blood cells.
The Kerr family will take part in the 10k run to raise money for Ninewells Ward 34, where Ruth spent most of her time. Husband John said: “The team at Ninewells was outstanding. We can’t thank them enough.”
Twin sons Cameron and Jamie will join their dad and almost 30,000 runners at the challenge in Glasgow. They have smashed their £500 target, raising £1,390 so far.
