A Dundee man has been shortlisted for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the 2018 Royal Bank of Scotland Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
Jamie Shankland runs Just Venue – an online venue-booking platform that is based in Dundee.
Organisers said there were a record number of businesses entering the awards nationally across the categories.
Jamie, 29, said: “It’s tough running a start-up but also really rewarding when you get recognition for your hard work and efforts.
“Being based on Dundee’s Waterfront has been super exciting in the last year with the run-up to the opening of the V&A, and we hope that the momentum continues with more and more businesses seeing Dundee as a viable place to come and set up as their home.
“I’m excited to have been selected for such a prestigious award and our fingers are crossed for the final.”
Now in its sixth year, the Royal Bank of Scotland Great British Entrepreneur Awards has celebrated many entrepreneurs over the years, some of whom are now household names.
Past winners include David Buttress of Just Eat, Julie Deane of The Cambridge Satchel Company, James Watt of BrewDog and most recently, Hannah and Sophie Pycroft of Spectrum Collections.
