You wouldn’t want to mess with this young Dundonian who is gearing up to be assessed for her black belt in karate.
At the age of just 14, Danna Walker will be graded for her black belt on September 9 – and it has been a long time in the making.
Danna, a pupil at Baldragon Academy in Kirkton, has been part of WTKO – Scotland Shotokan Karate Dundee for the past seven years.
Coach Eddie Ireland said she is incredibly dedicated to the sport.
He said: “Danna will be tested for her black belt under WTKO chief instructor, Sensei Richard Amos, who is a 7th dan black belt.
“Since starting shotokan, Danna has turned into a very dedicated brown belt with a very good knowledge of karate.
“She has a fantastic record of winning medals at competitions all over Scotland and England and even Ireland.
“She has managed to win gold, silver and bronze medals in not only individual events but also team events.
“She has also gained quite a few Active Schools medals in her time with us.
“Danna is also a junior Scottish squad member and she will be taking part in this year’s European Championships which are to be held in Cork in November.”
