One of Dundee’s most talented musicians is returning to a home crowd this weekend – and he has some surprises.
Billy Mitchell is heading to Beat Generator Live on Friday following a string of gigs around the country.
Billy, from Lochee, has been a stalwart of the Dundee music scene for years but he is taking it up a notch playing gigs alongside major acts such as Jake Bugg and his best pal, Kyle Falconer.
Since his last Dundee show Billy has added three experienced band mates, Paddy Brown, Megan McNally and Michael Clenaghan, who have all been involved in city bands including Carousel and Sahara.
Billy said: “I’ve not played Dundee since the start of the year so I’m absolutely buzzing to be playing back to the home crowd.
“I’ve been doing a lot of out-of-town shows recently. I’m just back from a wee tour around Scotland with acts such as Jake Bugg, The Coral, Gerry Cinnamon and fellow Dundonian Kyle Falconer.
“The Dundee gig is going to be special.
“I’ll have the band with me. The supports, Novella, Saint Louie and Craig Weir, are all awesome. Even better, I am going to try out some new tunes.
“It’s always good playing in Dundee. We are a mad wee bunch at times, eh?”
Tickets are priced at £7 and can be purchased online from Billy’s site at
Tickets will also be available on the door for £9.
Doors open at 7pm and remember to get down early for the fantastic support that is also on offer.
