Local families are invited to a fun day extravaganza this weekend – and it’s all for a good cause.
The Sunday Fun Day is being held in aid of fundraising efforts by local mums Rachael Clark, Jade Muirhead and Rebecca Reilly and the Angel Wings Trust.
The three mums are currently raising money to buy cuddle cots in memory of their children Trey Clark-Basson, Ava Dow and Eve Reilly who were all either stillborn or died in early childhood.
Trey’s mum Rachael said: “In 2016 I raised funds for two cuddle cots for Dundee funeral director James Ashtoin in memory of my beautiful little boy who was sadly stillborn in February 2016.
“As other Dundee funeral directors are in desperate need of a cuddle cot, I would love to help again by raising funds so that all grieving parents can spend more time with their baby before laying them to rest.
“As a parent, I know how precious time can be. Sadly I didn’t have the time with my son and wouldn’t want anyone else to miss that opportunity.”
The fun day will be held at Fairfield Sports and Social Club on Sunday from 2pm.
The kids will be spoiled for choice with pony rides, sports and games, stalls, face-painting, a tombola and a special appearance by a mystery guest.
The Bouncy Castle Man will also be bringing a number of inflatables to the venue, with unlimited access for just £6.
After all the kids are worn out, the adults can return to the social club and have their fun with a Motown celebration from 7pm.
Tickets are priced at £10 each, which can be paid at the door.
Revellers are in for a treat with a performance from the Motown Brothers.
Donations are welcome on the night and can also be made online at gofundme.com/dundee-cuddle-cot.
