He loved playing football and, now that he has hung up his boots, Boab McMillan is loving helping people with disabilities.
A big part of Scone Thistle’s community work is helping folk with disabilities and Boab is at the forefront of that.
He is being helped coaching autistic youngsters by Chris Allen and he also has assistance from Rory Cleisham (Scone 2002s) and a trio of players from Scone 2003s, Ben McKay, Ben Harris and Michael Neuwirth.
“Para football is football for people with disabilities and it is a big part of the Scottish Football Association’s coaching initiative,” said Boab. “Opportunities are opening up for disabled in football and the autistic groups I coach are very enthusiastic about the game.
“I absolutely love what I am doing. I take the sessions with a smile on my face and those I coach also find it great fun.”
