Downfield Primary has received a generous donation which will help to improve the growing outdoor spaces at the school.
A cheque for £200 was presented to the school by Asda Kirkton as part of the green token scheme which runs in all Asda stores up and down the country.
Everyone at Downfield Primary was thrilled by the substantial boost to school funds.
John Anderson-McGuinness, chairman of the parent partnership, said: “The money will more than likely be going towards the outdoor spaces.
“We are trying to spend as much as possible on outdoor play equipment and planting.
“We have a new area of trim trail going up March/April and we will need money for things such as timber edging, bark, vegetable plants and potentially more fruit trees to add to what is there.”
