It is actually the “Aladdin’s Cave” of unclaimed property held at the police headquarters at Bell Street in 1986.
Sergeant Dave Robertson shows off the array of bicycles that have lost their owners and he explained that twice a year the police were forced to sell it off.
Other items included video recorders and even lacy garters.
The police then began Operation Identification which saw invisible ink pens distributed so households could make secret marks on their property.
