Dundee midfielder Scott Allan has surgery in bid to get over groin injury

Scott Allan has been struggling through injury recently.

Dundee midfielder Scott Allan has undergone surgery on a troublesome groin injury.

The on-loan Celtic man uploaded a picture to his Instagram story captioned “operation complete”, with the player offering a thumbs up to the camera to suggest it had been successful.

Allan has been struggling with a groin problem for around a month after it first flared up when he was substituted before half-time against Rangers, though manager Neil McCann insisted afterwards it had been an ongoing problem.

He played less than an hour in the draw with Kilmarnock a little under two weeks later, but has now used the opportunity of the international break to seek to resolve the issue.
