A Dundee barber is getting himself an A-list reputation in Ibiza — while trying to raise awareness for children’s charities.

Jeff Thomson has worked his magic on the likes of UFC superstar Conor McGregor and Hollywood actress Eva Longoria since moving to the island in April.

The 43-year-old upped sticks from the City of Discovery to launch his own freelance hairdressing service.

And he’s managed to gain support from several businesses on the White Isle to auction off a Mini Cooper signed by a host of top club DJs.

Irish icon McGregor has spent several weeks partying in Ibiza since his loss to boxer Floyd Mayweather last month.

Speaking to the Tele, Jeff described the “surreal” experience of his one-on-one encounter with the MMA fighter.

He said: “He was absolutely brand new. You’re never sure of how they’re going to be because of their persona but it was just like sitting with any other normal boy in the barbershop.

“It was quite surreal because it was just him and I.

“I spent about an hour-and-a-half with him talking about whisky and things like that but not the fighting.

“I had worried myself all day about cutting Eva Longoria’s hair as well but she was perfectly normal and really nice.

“It’s amazing where a set of clippers will get you!”

Jeff, originally from the West End, is known in the city for his work with barbershops including Hair in Castle Street.

He hopes to raise a significant amount of money for the Aztaro Foundation in Ibiza and Help for Kids back in Dundee through the car auction.

Jeff added: “It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing to be honest.

“But I decided to take the Mini out there with me to see how many signatures we could get and maybe auction it off.

“It’s all about raising as much awareness as possible and hopefully some decent money for the Aztaro Foundation in Ibiza and Help for Kids.

“Unfortunately I couldn’t get Conor McGregor or Eva Longoria to sign it, but we’ve still got about 35 signatures from all the big club DJs here.”
