Dundee’s Scott Bain looks set to be announced as a Celtic player.
The 26-year-old arrived at Parkhead earlier this evening for crunch talks as a deal is ironed out.
It’s believed Bain’s current loan deal with the Easter Road side will be axed and he will instead be loaned to Celtic by Dundee, with the option of a permanent deal when his Dens Park contract expires in the summer.
Bizarrely, the keeper, still a Dundee player, arrived in Glasgow dressed in his Hibs training gear.
The Hibees are currently in action against Motherwell at home with Bain not named in the match day squad.
Another player not in the Hibs squad is striker Simon Murray.
He could make a move to Dundee, his boyhood club, if all the pieces fall in to place elsewhere, including a Scott Allan move to Hibs – the same scenario Scott Bain is in.
The bizarre situation is set to unfold within the next few hours with the Scottish transfer deadline being at midnight.
With Hibs currently playing, it’s not likely anything will be announced until their game has come to a conclusion.
