Dundee kebab shop ‘fight’ could help solve city sex attack

Corfu Kebabs on Seagate

Police hope a fight at a Dundee city centre kebab shop could hold the key to solving a sex attack in the West End.

Officers have confirmed a 22-year-old woman was subject to a sexual assault believed to be in a close in Bellefield Avenue.

The incident is said to have happened between 2.30am and 3.10am on Sunday January 28.

The victim was in Corfu Kebabs in Seagate at around 1.50am at the time of an ‘altercation’ between two women.

Police hope anyone in the shop at the time could hold key information relating to the inquiry.

Detective Inspector Sue Lawson said: “Through our inquiries, it has been established that our victim went to Corfu Kebabs and I am keen to speak to anyone who may have been in or around the shop about 1.50am on Sunday January 28.

“We know that an altercation took place between two women at Corfu Kebabs at this time and we hope this information will jog the memories of members of the public who were in the vicinity and may be able to assist us with the investigation.”
