Dryburgh Athletic Girls U/17 are enjoying a fantastic season – and it could be set to get better on Saturday.
They have created history by setting up a meeting with Glasgow City in the Scottish Women’s U/17 Cup Final at The Oriam in Edinburgh (4pm kick off), the first East Region side to do so.
The Dryburgh girls have already finished runners-up in the North U/17 League and had an incredible North-East League Cup win.
The majority of this young side have just moved up from U/15 and have exceeded expectations, which is a credit to the girls.
Over the course of the season they have worked well together enjoying training, matches, strength and conditioning plus gym sessions.
As well as the football and fitness side, the girls have enjoyed a Winter Funday and running the Dundee half-marathon together. Both were great days for team building and helping form lifetime friendships.
Their Scottish Cup campaign started back in April with a 10-1 win over Montrose.
This was followed by a superb 3-1 away win against South-East League Cup winners Broxburn Athletic.
Next up was a home quarter-final tie versus Raith which was won 9-0.
In their semi against Murieston United at Ravenscraig, the girls produced an amazing show to win 3-1.
Now it’s the final and two busloads of supporters are going to cheer them on.
