Fintry Athletic got off to a dream start wearing their new strips in memory of Ardler woman Tracey Burke.
Tracey, 30, lost her three-year battle with cervical cancer in September.
Her husband Greg – captain of Fintry Athletic – is in the process of setting up a charity called Besty’s in her memory.
The hashtag #teambesty was previously used on social media by supporters who raised a staggering £100,000 to highlight Tracey’s cause and send her to Germany for immunotherapy treatment. Greg said talks were now at an advanced stage to make Besty’s a registered charity.
Fintry Athletic took to the field at Dawson Park on Saturday wearing shirts in Tracey’s favourite colour purple and sporting the Besty’s logo.
The team – who traditionally play in red and black – took on Broughty United in the North of Tay Cup. Fintry ran out 3-1 winners, with Greg himself getting on the scoresheet.
Their other goals were scored by Lee Walker and Ryan Hunter.
Greg said the team was “over the moon” at the result.
