Dundee Foodbank has thanked locals for their donations at Saturday’s Dundee Vegan Festival.
The charity was collecting both donations of products and cash on the door of the festival at Abertay Student Centre, with a particular aim of providing food for those who choose to avoid eating animal products.
In all, visitors to the festival donated 202.8kg of food, which will provide the equivalent of 20 individuals, 13 couples or 10 families with a three-day emergency food parcel.
Visiting vegans also donated £707.14 in cash collected in buckets at the door. Donations were made in lieu of an entry fee to the free festival.
Ken Linton, manager at Dundee Foodbank, pictured above on Saturday, said there had been a strong response to the call for donations.
He added: “A huge thank you to all at Dundee Vegan Festival on Saturday.
“Many thanks to Barry, Ash and the team of volunteers for all their support.”
More than 1,400 people attended the event, with a mixture of food, clothing and lifestyle products available from a variety of producers from Tayside and beyond.
Organisers said the event, the third of its kind, had been the most popular yet.
