A Dundee FC favourite is returning to the city he made his home 17 years ago for a charity dinner.
Fabian Caballero played as a striker for the Dark Blues between 2000 and 2005 and is now taking a trip back to the city for a charity dinner in aid of Schwarzkopf’s Shaping Futures.
The event will take place at Invercarse Hotel on Friday April 6, with tickets priced at £55 or £75 for VIP. All ticket prices include a three-course meal.
As well as the Argentinian striker, there will also be a number of other special guests.
Wave 102 presenter Charlie Duthie will be host for the evening, with former Fifa referee Willie Young providing tales from his refereeing past.
The night is being organised by Choose Events Group, which is a new local company specialising in the planning and organisation of charitable and corporate sport-themed events, and Rhys Davidson, who is the owner of Coloured Souls Hairdressing.
Schwarzkopf’s Shaping Futures raises money to provide hairdressing kits and training courses in Third World countries.
Rhys has been involved with the initiative for four years and has been made a Shaping Futures educator, which gives him a major role in planning and fundraising for the charity.
He has been to Jordan twice and India twice to provide hairdressing tutoring and kits to disadvantaged young people.
Rhys said: “The charity’s work allows people to gain skills that they wouldn’t have had the opportunity to learn before.
“It is just so rewarding giving these people this opportunity.”
Tickets for the Dundee event can be purchased from Coloured Soul Dundee at 22 Union Street.
