Cammy Kerr has pulled on the heartstrings of Dundee fans after sharing a touching image of himself and fellow Dee Craig Wighton after Hearts snapped up the 21-year-old.
Wighton completed a move to the Jambos yesterday after a six-figure deal was agreed.
Shortly after the news broke, Kerr – who progressed through the ranks at Dens Park with the Scotland U/21 international – took to social media to bid farewell to his teammate.
The 22-year-old shared an image from the 2-0 win over Motherwell in November 2016 after he scored his only Dundee goal to date.
Kerr, with a look of sheer joy on his face after scoring for his boyhood club, is being embraced by Wighton.
The picture came with the caption: “Good things don’t always last forever.
“You deserve this opportunity mate but you will be sadly missed.
“Thanks for a great 5/6 years together. It’s been a pleasure.”
Wighton responded to the post with a crying face emoji, while others were “greeting” at the message.
Former Dark Blues physio Karen Gibson, no of hearts, added: “I’ll look after your old mucker, Cammy. Don’t you worry.”
