A Dundee fan who suffered a cardiac arrest during last night’s derby is reportedly recovering in intensive care.
The man collapsed in the Bobby Cox Stand during stoppage time shortly before Craig Wighton scored the Dees’ winner.
His heart had stopped, but medical staff at Dens Park were able to resuscitate him and he was transferred into an ambulance.
The man’s grandson has since taken to social media to confirm that he was alive and well. His first words upon regaining consciousness, reportedly, were “what was the score?”
Fans from both teams expressed their relief at the news.
One fan near to the incident wrote: “Glad to know that he’s on the mend. It happened a few rows behind us and didn’t look good at the time. Was in my thoughts all night.”
Another said: “Wish him a speedy recovery from a united fan.”
Another heaped praise on the medical staff for their quick response to the incident adding: “So sad to hear and well done to all involved who reacted quickly to get him the medical attention he needed.”
