A Broughty Ferry family and their friends have paid tribute to a much-respected member of the community by completing the Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours.
Brian Robertson, who was a well-known police officer and martial artist, died 11 months ago aged 53. Climbing in heat of up to 27C, his family and friends undertook the Three Peaks Challenge – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – and made it within a day.
They finished their arduous task with just 14 minutes to spare.
One of Brian’s daughters, Katie, said: “We have currently raised £9,304.25 including gift aid and are looking to raise the figure to £10,000.
“The money will go to Pancreatic Cancer Scotland, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Maggie’s Centre.”
