The next meeting of the Dundee Drugs Commission will be held at Dundee Contemporary Arts Centre on Tuesday.
Taking place in the meeting room on level 5, the open session from 2.30-4pm will hear evidence from Dr Emma Fletcher, consultant in public health medicine with NHS Tayside, and Alexis Chappell, locality manager with Dundee Health and Social Care Partnership.
Drug misuse is being addressed by a number of partners including Dundee City Council, NHS Tayside and other specialist and charitable organisations.
The commission will look at drug-related issues, scrutinise local services and make recommendations on how, as a city and a community planning partnership, Dundee can address the issues.
There are 23 members who have been recruited to the commission – all of whom are working on a voluntary basis.
There are 18 professional members from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences, who are complemented by a further five members who either have lived experience of drug use or are family members of drug users.
To book a place at the open session on Tuesday, call 01382 224846 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Organisers said that places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
