Alzheimer Scotland is to be the charity beneficiary for this year’s Dundee Dance Event (DDE).
One pound from each ticket sold for the closing party will go to the charity.
Organiser Mike McDonald said: “Attendees at last year’s event helped contribute £3,000 to Tayside Children’s Hospital which was a fantastic amount.
“It was very humbling to be able to help such an amazing facility.
“Hopefully we can raise a similar amount for Alzheimer Scotland to help support those living with dementia, their families and carers across Dundee.
“Everyone knows someone who has been touched by this horrible illness or has had a family member affected by it, so we decided to help support the great work of the charity.”
Clare Jamieson, community fundraiser for Alzheimer Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s Dundee Dance Event.
“All monies raised will help boost our local support, services and advice which will help us to get closer to achieving our aim of making sure that nobody faces dementia alone.”
DDE will take place on Sunday May 5.
