A residential site at the Waterfront is set to be snapped up for a seven-figure sum this week, the Tele has learned.
Councillors are to meet on tonight to discuss a number of land sell-offs to allow further development in Dundee.
Among the areas that will be discussed behind closed doors is the newly-approved residential block to be built on Site 6, across the road from the V&A.
Ediston Real Estate, which submitted the planning application to build the flats, was among the bidders for the land, the deed for which still rests with Dundee City Council.
It has reportedly submitted a bid of £1.45 million.

However, the Tele has learned that Robertson Capital Projects has come in with a higher bid which is likely to be approved tonight.
Robertson Capital – part of the Robertson Group, which is also building the office block on Site 6 – is understood to have submitted a bid of £1.6m for the right to build on the site.
A source said: “The meeting will decide on the sale of the area which will have the block of flats built on it. The council still owns the site at the moment.
“The architects and developers who lodged the application said they wouldn’t buy the land until they were given planning permission.
“Ediston Real Estate put in a bid but it has been outbid by Robertson Capital, which has submitted a bid of £1.6m.
“It is very likely that it will get waved through on Monday.”
Discussions on the deal are to be held in private, with few details of the meeting publicly available.
The plan to build 99 flats on Site 6 were approved by councillors last month following Ediston’s application. The block will sit on the north-eastern corner of the site, away from the office block currently under construction that overlooks the V&A.
A total of eight plots have been earmarked for Site 6, with a central courtyard in the middle.
At last month’s planning committee, councillors disagreed over the decision not to require planners to include parking spaces at the complex for residents.
Conservative West End councillor Donald Hay had attempted to stop the development but could not find a seconder to enable his motion to be put to a vote.
Mr Hay said he was concerned at the number of flats being built without parking in the city centre.
However, former city development chief Mike Galloway said people would be able to apply for the residents’ parking scheme, which would give them access to city centre multi-storey car parks.
He added that the council could build further parking facilities in the city centre if demand was identified but there were as yet no plans to do so.
The nearest car park is the Greenmarket multi-storey, a few minutes’ walk away.
The city council declined to comment.
The Robertson Group and Ediston Real Estate had not responded to a request for comment at the time of going to press.
