A proposal for a new coffee shop at Kingsway West Retail Park has been granted planning permission by Dundee City Council.
Councillors approved plans by Costa Coffee to occupy the vacant unit between Next Home and Currys/PC World.
CBRE Group put the proposal forward on behalf of Kingsway West SARL, which runs the retail park.
The operators said a coffee shop would take care of the “unsightly” dead space between the two stores, enhance the retail park’s offering, and create a number of new jobs.
Approving the proposal, the council said: “The application has been granted because the proposed development is a small-scale use and the design is in keeping with the character of the retail park.”
Costa regularly partners with Next, with coffee stops appearing at clothes stores around the country.
