Dundee businesses and communities came together to help lead the way of litter prevention in the City of Discovery.
The city is the first local authority to develop a Community Litter Prevention Action Plan.
The plan was developed in partnership with Zero Waste Scotland and Dundee City Council and forms part of Dundee’s Take Pride in Your City campaign.
The event provided the opportunity for discussion, networking, and collaboration between the council and a wide range of Dundee businesses, community groups and organisations who are in the process of or have developed individual plans as well as those who are interested in tackling littering in the city.
Neighbourhood services convener Councillor Kevin Cordell said: “It is fantastic so many of Dundee’s businesses, organisations and community groups have taken the lead in their communities and joined forces to help prevent litter from blighting Dundee’s environment.
“I would encourage others to join in with this initiative and help drive a change in behaviours and attitudes towards littering.”
The Take Pride In Your City campaign is a community campaign that aims to encourage everyone to take pride in Dundee.
The council aims to encourage members of the public as well as groups and organisations to help tackle issues including litter, dog fouling, fly-tipping and discarded chewing gum.
