Neil McCann has urged striker Sofien Moussa to get himself “between the posts” so he can add goals to his all-round play for Dundee.
The Dark Blues front man failed to inspire confidence among the Dens Park support for much of last season.
A late flurry of goals saw him finish with 12 in all competitions.
And this campaign, he’s already started towards bettering that tally with two goals in the 4-0 win over Stirling Albion on Saturday.
That’s despite a howler of a miss with the score at 0-0 before he changed his boots and 10 minutes later knocked in the opener
Neil said: “I don’t know if the other boots were a wee bit tight or whatever but it was a super finish for his second one.
“He knew I wasn’t happy with the first miss but his control of a great ball from Gense Kusunga was superb and it was a fine finish. Then it was a good header for the second.
“That’s where I want him. Sometimes Moussa is a wee bit guilty of pulling into areas where it becomes difficult to score.
“I want him between the posts because you can see how much of a physical presence he is.
“I thought him and Mendy looked a good partnership and Craig Wighton was the icing on the cake.
“He drifted from side to side and you can see the quality he’s got.”
