Dundee Asda collects record-breaking amount of donations for city foodbank

A Dundee supermarket has collected a record-breaking haul for the city’s foodbank.

Four times a year, Dundee Foodbank sets up at Asda stores to collect food and the Kirkton store customers donated in force in the latest visit.

Samantha Will, community champion for Asda Kirkton, said: “It was a record breaker of a collection day.

“The foodbank goes by weight to register how much is collected, so every time they are in store I’m always eager to see the total. I had to look twice as I thought I was seeing things.

“The weigh-in was an incredible 1,121.08kg. I’d thank to thank the generous customers.”
