Dundee armed robbery: CCTV images released of man police want to speak to

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to trace following an armed robbery at a Dundee shop.

Blackness News on Blackness Road was targeted by a knife-wielding man at about 8.15pm on Friday.

The culprit entered the store, showed a knife to the shop assistant and stole between £400 and £500 before running off.

Officers continue to hunt for the suspect and have today issued images of a man they “they consider may be able to assist with their inquiries”.

A spokesman for the force said: “The man is described as black, slim build, aged 20 to 30, 5ft 9in to 5ft 11in tall, wearing a thigh length navy jacket with light-coloured fur around the hood, black gloves with a white logo on the rear of each glove, dark slim fit trousers and black trainers.

“The male is believed to have spoken with an African accent however he was fluent in English.

“This male may have information that will assist the inquiry and requires to be identified and traced.”

Shop owner Shazad Latif previously told the Tele he has put up a £500 reward for information and urged anyone with information to contact police.
