Driver charged as cyclist taken to hospital after Dundee crash

Emergency services were called to a road traffic accident in Dundee today.

A man in his sixties was hurt in the incident and was taken to hospital, while another man was charged with a driving offence.

The accident, involving a bicycle and a car, occurred around 7.40am, at the junction of Arbroath Road and East Haddon Road, near to the Arbroath Road Motors premises.

A Scottish Ambulance Service crew attended and took the casualty to Ninewells Hospital.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police attended at Arbroath Road, at the junction with East Haddon Road, around 7.40am, in response to reports of a road traffic collision.

“A car and bike had collided and the 62-year-old male cyclist was taken to Ninewells Hospital with minor injuries.

“The 57-year-old driver of the car has been charged with road traffic offences and is to be reported to the procurator fiscal.”
