Drama as car goes on fire near Dundee primary school

Firefighters were called to a car fire near to a Dundee school.

Emergency services attended Hawkhill shortly before 3pm after reports of the vehicle ablaze.

The incident happened around the time Blackness Primary was due to finish for the week.

No on was hurt in the blaze, which is believed to have been down to a electrical fault in the Honda 4×4.

The fire appeared to be minor with officers dousing flames in around 10 minutes.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to reports of a car fire near the Campbeltown Bar on Hawkhill,

“The first call came in at 2.50pm and we received a stop message back at 3pm.”

A police spokesman added that officers attended for “traffic management”.
