More delays for Dundee train passengers this afternoon

There are further delays on Dundee trains this afternoon.

Services on the east coast line from Edinburgh to Aberdeen were disrupted this morning after a person was struck by a train in Fife.

They were later declared dead.

Services returned to normal later in the morning but a signal fault is causing disruption this afternoon.

ScotRail tweeted: “We’re dealing with a signal fault between and Perth that’s affecting Aberdeen/Dundee – Glasgow Queen St services.”


The deceased from this morning’s incident is yet to be identified.

A statement from British Transport Police read: “A person has sadly died after they were struck by a train at Cupar station this morning.

“Officers were called at 9.38am and attended alongside paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Efforts are now being made in order to identify to identify the person and inform their next of kin.

“This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report will be made for the Procurator Fiscal.”
