Dundee keeper Scott Bain dropped for Hibernian game after bust up with Neil McCann

Scott Bain

Dundee goalkeeper Scott Bain is expected to be dropped for today’s visit to Hibs after a bust up with boss Neil McCann.

The 25-year-old and the manager are reported to have exchanged words in the dressing room following last week’s 3-1 home defeat against Hamilton.

That led to the Dark Blues fining their goalie, but Bain has so far refused to accept he was in the wrong and is taking his case to the players’ union.

That stand-off appears to have led to him being excluded from the squad for Easter Road and back up keeper Elliot Parish is set to make his competitive debut.

That being the case, it could be the end of Bains’ Dens Park career.

He’s out of contract at the end of the season and in the past expressed a desire to move on.

Ironically since McCann took over from Paul Hartley, the former Aberdeen and Alloa man has seemed more settled and his form this season has been excellent.

There has, however, been no sign of him penning a new deal and this episode makes doing that look highly unlikely.
