Council urges more locals to sign up as foster carers

Perth and Kinross Council is urging more locals to sign up to be foster carers.

The local authority looks to provide placements in Perth and Kinross so youngsters can maintain the links they have locally. The only way this can be done is by having carers in communities around the area.

Foster carers do not need formal qualifications — personal qualities are more important. Full training and support is provided to carers and fees and allowances are paid reflecting the level of commitment and care they provide to children and young people.
