Police with dogs seized alcohol from football fans going to a game by bus.
Officers stopped a football supporters bus which was travelling to Greenock to see Morton face Ayr United.
South Ayrshire officers were supported by officers from the road policing and dog branch and stopped the supporters bus on the A78 where alcohol was seized from passengers.
Police posted on Facebook some of the haul, which included two cans of Fosters and six bottles of Buckfast.
Police Sergeant Lyall, Locality policing supervisor, said: “Alcohol consumption linked to football matches places everyone at risk and increases the opportunity for violence and anti-social behaviour.
“Operations like this one help keep fans and the wider community safe and I would like to thank the driver and passengers on the bus for their cooperation throughout.”
“I would ask that everyone considers their own safety at football events, act responsibly and importantly enjoy the game”.
Saturday’s Championship clash ended in a 0-0 draw.
