Cops stop more than 150 vehicles in A90 police operation

More than 150 vehicles were stopped by police on the A90 in Tayside.

About 100 road traffic offences were detected as part of a Police Scotland operation involving several units deployed on the A90 between Fraserburgh and Perth.

Officers recovered controlled drugs, arrested a man on an outstanding warrant and seized eight vehicles.

Road policing sergeant Steve Manson, who led the operation over last weekend, said: “This type of route enforcement on a large scale is now becoming a regular tactic and will continue over the course of the year.

“Our goal is to influence driver and road-user behaviour, reduce road casualties and detect and deter all types of criminality on our roads.”
