Concerns have been raised about a missing Dundee University student who has not been seen since before Christmas.
Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of Hayden Leroux, 22, who was due to return home to London for the festive period but never arrived.
Hayden had been expected to travel south on December 21 but is instead understood to have checked into the Queen’s Hotel, close to his student accommodation on South Tay Street.
He returned to his flat on December 23 and spoke to his flatmate Paul Stuart.
He said he did not have a key and that he would return after getting some money, but never did.
Hayden’s mum also contacted Paul asking if he had seen her son when he did not arrive home.
After Christmas, Hayden’s flatmates and friends went around local hotels and hostels and discovered he checked into the Queen’s Hotel on Perth Road on December 21 and checked out two days later.
Hayden was last seen wearing blue joggers, green trainers and an NY Yankees beanie and was carrying a white Superdry backpack and a black Slazenger gym bag.
Paul, who has known Hayden for more than three years, said friends and family were growing increasingly concerned.
He said: “I’ve known him for quite a long time. He doesn’t go out that much.”
Friend Chloe Tupper, 23, said: “This is completely out of character – he has never done this before.
“I just want him to know that it’s OK if he wants his space but there are a lot of people worried about him and if he could just let us know that he is safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “If anyone has any information about Hayden’s whereabouts please contact us on 101 or speak to any police officer.
“Our reference number is 3477 of January 1.”
