A man has been found not guilty of raping another man in Dundee city centre.
Gareth Niven, 26, stood trial accused of committing the sex attack on an area of waste ground near Matthews Foods in Gellatly Street in October 2015.
But jurors at the High Court in Edinburgh returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty on the charge. Before his trial started, two other charges against him were dropped by the Crown Office.
Niven was alleged to have assaulted the man by kissing him on the mouth, putting his hand down his trousers, seizing him by the body as well as removing his trousers and underwear.
The charge, however, was dropped by the Crown.
Prior to Niven’s trial, prosecutors also dropped charges of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards an under age boy between November 2007 and November 2009.
