The West End Out of School Club for St Joseph’s RC and Victoria Park primary schools has been given a positive report by the care inspectorate.
The club, which caters for a maximum of 70 children, scored 4 out of 6 and has been marked as “good” for the quality of care and support, quality of environment, quality of staffing and the quality of management and leadership it provides.
The report stated: “Children were enabled to make decisions about whether they played indoors or in the large playgrounds.
“This was a clear change from the last inspection. Children could freely move between the two play spaces with appropriate supervision.
“Children told us staff respected their views and opinions and would help them when required.”
Christine Anderson, one of the club’s managers, said: “We are very pleased. We worked really hard for it.”
