Chickens in need of owners hope to be cock of the walk at new local homes

Two “inquisitive” cockerels are on the lookout for a new home having found themselves at the SSPCA’s rehoming centre north of Dundee.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity is currently looking after Bolt and Spartacus at its Petterden base.

Dale Christie, the centre’s assistant manager said the pair would be looking to go their separate ways to different owners.

Bolt the cockerel

Each would hope to be cock of the walk at their new homes to show off to any prospective mates.

Mr Christie said: “Both of these guys are well-handled and very intelligent. They’re quite inquisitive too and love looking to see what’s going on and what you’re up to.

Spartacus

“These boys are looking for a home separately, where they can strut their stuff and show off to some new girlfriends.

“They will also need a home that has a bit of land for them to roam around and enjoy the sun.”

Anyone who can offer Bolt or Spartacus the home they deserve should contact the Scottish SPCA’s centre in Dundee on 03000 999 999.
