A till containing cash and a TV was stolen in a raid on a Dundee takeaway.
The break-in at the Golden Sky on Buttars Loan happened at the weekend.
A two-figure sum of money was in the cash register at the time.
Neighbouring business owners said officers had been at their premises looking for any clues in a bid to track down the culprits.
One said officers told him they suspected a group of four of five young boys were responsible.
A statement from Police Scotland read: “We are appealing for information after a cash register with a two-figure sum and an old style television were stolen during a break-in to a take-away shop in Buttars Loan sometime between 11.55pm on Friday October 6 and 12.15am on Saturday October 7.
“Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting CR/26224/17 or speak to any police officer.
“Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
