Emergency crews were called to Broughty Ferry Road following a three-vehicle smash yesterday.
A burgundy car was among those badly damaged in the collision near the junction at Dalgleish Road.
An eyewitness said the incident took place around 2pm before an ambulance was spotted at the scene.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed a crew had been passing at the time.
None of the parties involved required medical treatment. Police were also called to the scene.
The eyewitness said: “I was just heading back into Dundee when I saw two cars were damaged.
“The burgundy car was really badly damaged at the front.
“I saw the ambulance crew at the scene and when I headed back the police had arrived.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Three vehicles were involved in a road traffic collision on Dalgleish Road.
“None of the people inside the vehicles were injured.”
