Broughty Ferry beach was today handed a top award for the 13th year running.
The attraction was given a Resort Seaside Award from environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful for its pristine condition.
The announcement was made in the annual beach awards by the charity.
The news was given a warm welcome by some of those involved in helping to keep the beach in tip-top condition.
Kevin Cordell, depute convener of Dundee City Council’s neighbourhood services committee, said he was delighted that Broughty beach had won a top award from the group yet again.
He said: “This is a fantastic honour and accolade for Broughty Ferry beach.
“It is testament to the work carried out by the council and locals alike to keep the beach in top condition.
“This is an excellent result and makes all the hard work by everyone who regularly comes along to the beach to pick up debris and litter very worthwhile.”
