Police have sealed off a busy Tayside street as they respond to an ongoing incident this morning which saw a man hospitalised.
Officers responded to a call at 1.45am to attend Grampian Court, Perth following reports of a man sustaining an injury.
He was taken to hospital with unknown injuries and his condition is unknown.
It is understood that a man has barricaded himself inside a property in Grampian Court and officers are negotiating with him to come out.
Police have cordoned off Crieff Road at its junction with Tulloch Road, turning traffic heading into the city centre and up to the college away. Pedestrians were allowed to pass the scene on foot.

A Grampian Court resident who declined to give her name said officers had been there since early this morning.
“I was allowed out my house this morning and I’m just waiting to get back in,” she said.
“The police haven’t told us anything about what has happened – should I be worried?”
A police spokesman said: “We are currently in attendance at Grampian Court, Perth in response to an ongoing incident. An injured party is in hospital. No further details are available at this time.
“Grampian Court is currently closed at the junction of Crieff Road.”
