A teenager has been cautioned and charged in connection with an incident in Hilltown.
Police were called to a disturbance in McDonald Street after reports of a male being assaulted.
Residents said officers were questioning three males following an altercation just after 11am on Monday.
Shamal Gomes, 53, who has lived in the area for more than four years, said: “I saw a police car when I was heading into the city centre.
“The police were standing at the gates opposite my property chatting to three males just after 11 o’clock. I’m not surprised to hear someone has been assaulted.
“The police are in this area quite regularly.”
Fellow resident JD Henshaw, 39, said: “I’m certainly surprised to hear this happened. I’ve lived here more than 17 years and the area is generally very quiet.”
A police spokesman said: “Officers attended in McDonald Street, Dundee, shortly before 11am in response to a report of a male having been assaulted.
“A 17-year-old male has been cautioned and charged in connection with the incident.”
