Bosses behind a proposed fast food restaurant have said it is unlikely the eatery would cause “an unacceptable increase” of on-street activity.
Papa John’s has formally submitted plans for a new shop at 148 West Marketgait in the centre of Dundee.
A report submitted to the local authority stated that the opening times would be from 11am-midnight Sunday-Thursday, and from 11am-2am on Friday and Saturday.
It added: “The area has an established night-time economy, with a variety of uses remaining open into the evening and helping to maintain activity throughout the day.
“The vast majority of Papa John’s customers either have their orders delivered or take their purchases away for consumption at home.
“Very few customers would consume their purchases in the street.
“Therefore, it is unlikely that there would be an unacceptable increase in on-street activity, such that would render the proposal inappropriate in this area.”
