Police are probing the mystery death of a 37-year-old woman at a flat in Dundee.
Officers were called to a property on Dens Road, near its junction with North Isla Street, following the discovery.
It is understood the woman’s body may have been lying in the property for several days.
Residents said there had been a hive of police activity in the area throughout this week.
A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed a woman’s body had been found on Monday morning.
The spokesman added that the death was currently being treated as unexplained.
One resident at the block confirmed officers had come to his door asking if he knew a female who lived in the close.
Kat Thomson, 41, said it wasn’t “unusual” to see police on the road.
She said: “There were two officers standing outside the block and there was certainly a bigger police presence than normal in the area on Monday and Tuesday.
“I also saw officers carrying out furniture which I thought was strange.”
Another resident confirmed she had also seen police removing items of furniture from the block.
She said: “There have been police sitting outside the block over the course of the last few days.
“I saw four officers outside the flats at one point.
“There have been vehicles coming and going throughout the course of both Monday and Tuesday.
“Police officers were carrying furniture out, including chairs, into some of the police vehicles.”
A spokesman for the force said: “Police Scotland attended an address in Dens Road about 2.30am on Monday in response to the reported death of a 37-year-old woman.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”
