A body has been found in parkland after police taped off a Dundee street.
Five police vehicles and an ambulance were in attendance at Robertson Street in Stobswell at around 8.30pm last night amid concerns for a person’s welfare.
Police have confirmed that a woman’s body was found nearby.
It said: “Police Scotland can confirm that following concerns being raised for the welfare of an individual in Eden Bank, Dundee, about 8:30pm yesterday (5th December), the body of a 61 year old woman was found in a parkland area nearby.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances, but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances, and a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
A local resident, who did not want to be named, said: “There were police walking about the park on Robertson Street and taking photos at around 9.45pm.
“For there to be so many cars, it must have been something serious. The road and the park were both taped off.”
Kevin Williamson, 49, a cleaner from Graham Place, added: “I saw police looking up Robertson Street and stopping cars coming up the road.”
